Conference on Geological Collectors and Collecting
Registration reminder!
The registration process for the Conference on Geological Collectors and Collecting is now underway. The conference is organised by the History of Geology Group (HOGG) an affiliated group of the Geological Society of London. A full programme and timetable; a registration form which provides full details about the conference costs and how to register; and a poster about the conference can be downloaded from the HOGG website www.geolsoc.org.uk/hogg and scroll down to ‘Activities’.
The conference – which includes workshops, posters and behind-the-scenes tours as well as talks, and covers collecting of geological maps and books in addition to the collecting of fossils, rocks and minerals – is timed to coincide with the Christies London Sale of Travel, Science and Natural History Artefacts on 6 April 2011. Conveners include John Henry (HOGG member, and proprietor of 19th Century Geological Maps), Sarah Long (Head of Palaeontology Collections at the Natural History Museum London), and Nina Morgan (Science writer and HOGG member).
The conference is due to take place just 9 weeks from now. If you haven’t registered yet, we hope you soon will!
This event will cater for a broad range of interests, and is open to all. To encourage a wide participation, we’ve kept the registration fees very low. For further information, contact Nina Morgan ninamorgan@lineone.net. We hope to see you there!
