ABA Rare Book Fair London on 24 May 2018 at Battersea Evolution to be opened by Sir David Attenborough.

The Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association are delighted that Sir David Attenborough will open the 61st edition of ABA Rare Book Fair London on 24 May 2018 at Battersea Evolution.

Over 170 leading booksellers from around the world will gather for the 61st edition of ABA Rare Book Fair London from 24 – 26 May which will be opened by award-winning naturalist Sir David Attenborough, an avid rare book collector and honorary member of the ABA.

A wide variety of rare books, maps and prints, manuscripts, ephemera and photographs including museum quality items to modern day first editions will be available to view and purchase. Highlights include the first true modern atlas (1603), a copy of Conchology or the Natural History of Shells (1811), Darwin’s Journal of Researchers (1839), works illustrated by George Braque and other artists including William Nicholson, classic children’s volumes and items from the collection of the late great actor, Alan Rickman.

Visitors can also participate in guided tours and see book craft demonstrations from organisation such as the Royal Bindery.
