Papers cover the Society’s awards for producing county maps, the campaign for a national water supply, the Society’s encouragement of the British marble industry, Humphry Davy and mineral collection, the Crystal Palace dinosaurs, the Royal School of Mines outreach programme and making sense of mineralogy in the 19th century, providing an overview of the RSA’s encouragement of these new earth sciences.
